If you are considering whole carcass purchasing and would like further details or a visit to Owl Barn, Mike will take you out, show you how we manage our ground, and the provenance, and then take you through how the whole carcass can be profitable.

    We know where every cut comes from – all our venison is harvested by our own partnership deer managers with full traceability. All our deer carcasses are inspected and quality stamped by FSA vets so we can guarantee provenance and quality.

    Our cuts of meat will be tailored to the time of year. We will provide you with recipes and inspiration to cook beautiful, tasty dishes that will not only wow yourself, your family and your friends.

  • Next Day Delivery

    We send our orders out twice weekly; on a Tuesday afternoon for Wednesday delivery and Thursday afternoon for Friday delivery. If however you require delivery on a specific day please email or phone and we will do what we can to accommodate.

Deer Management

It is important to manage deer to ensure a healthy and sustainable deer population in balance with the environment, to protect them from starvation due to overgrazing, to reduce potential for disease and from death and injury in road traffic accidents (the National Deer-Vehicle Collisions Project estimates that there are between 42,000 and 74,000 accidents involving deer across the country each year). It is equally important to prevent deer from causing unacceptable damage to crops and trees and to protect other creatures sharing their habitat from the results of overgrazing.

We we want to change this – we have this amazing wild, healthy, environmentally sustainable meat source and its being held back by past ‘old fashioned’ experiences and methods of cooking. We will bring you great recipes via our Website, Facebook, Instagram and YouTube – some will be for everyday cooking and others for special occasions. We want you to love eating venison as much as we do and although we love our little secret….we think we owe it to our deer to share it!

About Deer Box

We are in a changing world, where consumers want to know where their food comes from. How sustainable was production and the ‘carbon footprint’ of process surrounding it? We are seeking more healthy food.

Deer Box is the vision of Chef, Restaurateur, and Deer Manager Mike Robinson and one of his principal deer managers Ben Heath. A large area of land is managed throughout Gloucestershire, Oxfordshire, Berkshire, and Hampshire through Robinson Wild Foods and their vision is to change how venison is perceived and to make it more accessible to you.

Every purchase helps someone else

In January 2021 we were approached by the Country Food Trust. Deer Box is one of the few FSA registered venison processors that have made a commitment to only harvesting deer with lead free ammunition. When asked to help supply pure venison mince for their country bolognese we were only too happy to help. Add to this our passion for ensuring sustainable use and what could be better than helping to feed those in need with sustainable and healthy protein.
